It’s okay to cry instead of being productive

I would like to give a virtual hug today to everyone who is feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious, angry, lonely, sad, annoyed, nervous, weird and overall just really scared. You are not alone.

If when people invite you to *yet another fucking Zoom party* and you roll your eyes and think, “I’m already tired of Zoom and it’s only Day fucking 2, I don’t want to go to your stupid Zoom happy hour, today, and I probably don’t want to go to it tomorrow”; you are not alone.

If when people talk about how they “have already pivoted their business in less than 72 hours and already completed 3 webinars and gotten 567 sign-ups for their amazing new virtual offering!”; and you just want to roll your eyes and cry into a pillow; you are not alone.

If when people share their 7 amazing solutions for how to be mindful and healthy and release stress and manage anxiety and remain creative and stay happy in uncertainty and maximize your productivity and stay connected while at home and “crush remote work,” and all you want to do is scream as loud as you can and hug someone; nothing is wrong with you; you are not alone (although, please don’t hug anyone, give them an elbow bump! 🙃).

It’s okay to feel weird right now. It’s okay not to know the answers. It’s okay to feel conflicted. It’s okay to feel paralyzed and not be able to get anything done. It’s okay to miss your family. It’s okay to miss your friends. It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to cry instead of getting your work done. It’s okay to forget what it is you were actually even working on. It’s okay to feel everything right now. It’s okay to be doing your best and your best be exactly what it is.

You are not alone. ❤️
